California’s Labor Commissioner has revised its guidelines in determining whether interns are employees. In an April 7, 2010 opinion letter, the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) abandoned its long-used 11-factor criteria and adopted the federal Department of Labor’s six-factor test.
